A Video Game Player or VGP is a person who plays video games on a regular basis. VGPs have been the subject of much academic research, and some studies identify them as those who play at least 2 hours per week, 5 hours per week or 10 hours per week on average.

Some studies have concluded that VGPs have 'more precise multisensory temporal processing abilities' and 'improved decision-making abilities and enhanced brain activites', but others that 'Increased VGP [Video Game Playing] is directly or indirectly associated with delayed development of the microstructure in extensive brain regions and verbal intelligence'.

There are a number of VGP expos and events in Australia each year, including The Game Expo and the Melbourne International Games Week.
